4K60 HDMI over Fiber Extender: EXT-HD4KFIB-10KM

EXT-HD4KFIB-10KM EXT-HD4KFIB-10KM 4K60 HDMI over Fiber Extender Kit (10km/6.2mi) Send Full 18Gbps 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI Miles Beyond HDBaseT, with HDR and Lossless Audio Pass-Through… Product page →

What the EXT-HD4KFIB-10KM fiber extender kit is

The EXT-HD4KFIB-10KM is a two-box HDMI-over-fiber extender kit: a compact transmitter at the source and a matching receiver at the display, joined by a single LC fiber run. It carries 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI with 18Gbps of video bandwidth per HDMI 2.0b, along with HDR and lossless multichannel audio, over distances well beyond the reach of copper extenders. Each unit is a black metal enclosure measuring 3.19″ W × 1.93″ D × 0.98″ H and weighing 0.30 lbs, with a 10G SFP+ fiber port and a USB-C service port. The kit is built for campuses, venues and control rooms where distance and signal integrity matter more than KVM or control pass-through.

How far can it send 4K, and over which fiber?

Over single-mode LC fiber cable the kit reaches up to 10km (6.2mi) at 4K60 4:4:4, the same distance shown in the application diagram. Fiber cable is not included, so specify single-mode LC for the long runs or OM4 multi-mode for shorter ones and match it to the distance you need. Over multi-mode OM4 LC fiber, through the SFP modules, the kit reaches up to 300m (984ft).

Does it need a network switch or a matrix to work?

No. The EXT-HD4KFIB-10KM is a transparent point-to-point link with no network switch in the signal path: one HDMI source connects to the transmitter, the transmitter reaches the receiver over a single LC fiber run, and the receiver drives one display. It is built for one-source-to-one-display deployment and does not require a matrix or control system. The source connects straight through to the display and passes HDCP 2.2 protected content over the fiber link.

What resolutions, HDR and audio does it pass?

The transmitter accepts one HDMI 2.0b source at up to 18Gbps with HDCP 2.2, up to 4096x2160 at 50/60Hz with 4:4:4 color, and any VESA resolution. It handles 8-bit, 10-bit and 12-bit color depth across RGB, YCbCr 4:4:4 / 4:2:2 and YUV 4:2:0 color spaces. HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG pass through, as do audio formats including LPCM 7.1, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X. The receiver outputs the same signal to one display.

What ports and power does each unit use?

On the transmitter you have one HDMI Type A 19-pin female IN, one USB-C SERVICE port for firmware updates, and one SFP+ OUT with an LC female connector. The receiver mirrors this with an SFP+ IN (LC female), a USB-C SERVICE port, and one HDMI Type A 19-pin female OUT. Each unit is powered by its own supply rated DC 5V/1A, with an AC input of 100-240V at 50/60Hz; the kit ships with two 5V/1A power supplies. Power consumption is 3.05W maximum at the transmitter and 2.25W maximum at the receiver. Because the units contain sensitive electrical components, surge protection is recommended.

Connect the HDMI source to the transmitter IN port, run an LC fiber cable from the transmitter SFP+OUT to the receiver SFP+IN, and connect the receiver OUT to the display. A green LINK LED on both units indicates a normal optical fiber signal, and a green POWER LED on each unit shows it is powered on.
