1G H.265 AV over IP System Controller
KanexPro AVO-IPCTL-265 1G H.265 AV over IP system controller — matrix switching, video wall with window roaming, mouse collaboration, seamless switching…
Delivers centralized management of H.264/H.265 AV over IP systems over a standard 1G network — with drag-and-drop matrix switching, video wall with window roaming, seamless switching, and mouse collaboration from a single web interface. Powered by an ARM Cortex-A55 2GHz processor, the AVO-IPCTL-265 connects to the same 1G managed switch as H.265 encoders and decoders, auto-discovers all endpoints, and provides full system control of video routing, audio, RS-232, KVM, GPIO, and IR automation. Where the entry-level AVO-IPCTL-265HD provides basic 100M matrix management, the AVO-IPCTL-265 adds 1G bandwidth, window roaming, marquee display, seamless switching, mouse collaboration across multiple PCs, IP camera import, HD background image, and multi-screen splicing — making it the right choice for any deployment requiring advanced video wall capabilities or collaborative operator workflows. Dual 1G network ports isolate AV multicast traffic from the IT control network, with HTTPS and SSH security for enterprise and institutional deployments. Compatible with AVO-IP265-4K, AVO-IP265-HD, and AVO-IP265-HDK H.265 AV over IP encoders and decoders.

Questions
- How does seamless switching work?
- The next source pre-loads before the switch completes, eliminating black frames or signal dropouts. Encoders must be online and in the system before switching. Configured via the Matrix or Video Wall page.
- Can IP cameras be used as video sources?
- Yes — IP cameras are imported via the Device page as RTSP sources and routed to any decoder display using the same drag-and-drop matrix workflow as H.265 encoder sources. Compatible with H.264/H.265 RTSP streams.
- How does mouse roaming/collaboration work?
- Mouse roaming moves the cursor seamlessly across multiple decoder displays as if they were one extended desktop. Set KVM OS (Windows/Linux/Mac OS) per encoder in Device → Other Settings. Default is Windows.
- How do I access the web GUI?
- Navigate to http://controller.local or 192.168.6.100 (no DHCP). Default login: admin/admin. Set a new 6–8 digit alphanumeric password on first login. Special characters are not supported.
- What if the network switch does not support PoE?
- Power the encoder, decoder, and AVO-IPCTL-265 controller via their included DC power adapters. The controller accepts DC 12V/2.5A.
- Encoders and decoders are not discovered after initial setup?
- Verify the VIDEO LAN port is connected to the same managed switch as all encoders and decoders. Confirm IGMP Snooping is enabled on the switch. Use Search Device Via Wizard on the Device page to re-scan. In Static IP mode, confirm encoder/decoder IP ranges are within the configured Video LAN subnet.
- STATUS LED is not becoming solid after boot?
- STATUS LED flashes every 1 second during boot and becomes solid when Control LAN is ready. If it continues flashing, verify CONTROL LAN has an active network connection. Disconnect any cable from the UPDATE (Micro USB) port — it must remain disconnected during normal operation.
- How does AVO-IPCTL-265 differ from AVO-IPCTL-265HD?
- The AVO-IPCTL-265 operates on a 1G network and adds window roaming, seamless switching, mouse collaboration, IP camera import, marquee display, and HD background image. The AVO-IPCTL-265HD is a 100M entry-level controller without these advanced features. Choose AVO-IPCTL-265 for any deployment requi
- Why choose H.265 over JPEG2000 for this system?
- H.265 provides efficient bandwidth compression suitable for large-scale deployments where bandwidth optimization matters. JPEG2000 (AVO-IPJP2K) is visually lossless and preferred for color-critical applications. H.265 systems with AVO-IPCTL-265 are typically lower cost per endpoint while still deliv
- What EDID options are available for encoders?
- 1080P 2.0CH, 1080I 2.0CH, 4K30 444 2.0CH, 4K60 420 2.0CH, 4K60 444 2.0CH, DVI 1280×1024, DVI 1920×1080, DVI 1920×1200. EDID can also be copied from a connected decoder.
