4×4 HDBaseT Matrix Switcher with 4K60 & CAT Extension (70m)
KanexPro MMX-4X4CAT-70M 4x4 HDBaseT matrix with 4K60 18Gbps, 230ft, 70m, PoC receivers, HDR, Web GUI.
The KanexPro MMX-4X4CAT-70M is an 18Gbps 4×4 HDMI matrix switcher with simultaneous mirrored HDBaseT CAT outputs, delivering 4K60 4:4:4 signal distribution to up to eight displays from four sources in a compact 1U rack-mountable enclosure. Each of the four outputs delivers the signal via both a direct HDMI port and a mirrored HDBaseT CAT port — extending the signal to the included PoC-powered CAT receivers up to 230ft (70m) over a single CAT6 cable. 12V Power over Cable powers the remote receiver through the same cable, removing the need for a separate power supply at each remote display location. Suited for smaller conference rooms, huddle spaces, classrooms, digital signage deployments, and multi-zone residential or hospitality AV installations. All HDMI and CAT ports support up to 4K2K@60Hz (YUV 4:4:4) with full 18Gbps uncompressed bandwidth, HDR pass-through (HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG), and HD audio including LPCM 7.1, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS-X. An independent 4K-to-1080p downscaler on each output supports mixed-resolution display environments without additional hardware. Advanced EDID management with multiple factory and copy presets, CEC display control, and one-way IR matrix routing are all built in. Control is available via front panel buttons, IR remote, RS-232 serial, TCP/IP LAN, and a browser-based Web GUI — compatible with Crestron, AMX, and other automation platforms. Questions
- What is the maximum 4K60 transmission distance?
- 4K60 4:4:4 is supported up to 230ft / 70m per CAT port. For longer distances up to 492ft / 150m, see the MMX-4X4CAT-150M.
- Can any input be routed to any output?
- Yes. The 4x4 matrix supports fully independent routing — any of the 4 sources can be sent to any combination of the 4 output pairs (HDMI + CAT). The same source can be sent to all 4 outputs simultaneously.
- What cable type is required for CAT outputs?
- Use CAT6 or CAT6A shielded cable with direct T568B wiring. Do not use crossover cables or patch panels with many connection points as these degrade signal quality at 4K distances.
- Do the CAT receivers need separate power supplies?
- No. The MMX-4X4CAT-70M provides 12V PoC (Power over CAT) on all 4 CAT output ports. The included receivers draw power through the CAT cable — no additional power supply is required at each remote location.
- How do I access the Web GUI?
- Connect the TCP/IP RJ45 port to your network switch. The default IP is 192.168.1.100. Open a browser and navigate to that IP. Default credentials: Admin / admin. Update the password after initial login.
- No signal at a CAT receiver — what should I check?
- Check that CAT6 cable uses T568B (not crossover) wiring, verify the PoC LED on the receiver is illuminated, confirm cable length is under 70m, and re-seat RJ45 connectors at both ends. Verify correct input routing and EDID settings via the Web GUI.
- What is in the box?
- 1x MMX-4X4CAT-70M matrix, 4x CAT receivers, 1x IR remote, 1x power supply, 1x RS-232 cable, IR blaster and receiver cables, mounting ears, and user manual.
- Can I use displays with different resolutions?
- Yes. The per-output 4K→1080p downscaler can be enabled independently on each of the 4 outputs, allowing you to mix 4K and 1080p displays on the same matrix.
- Does this unit support audio de-embedding?
- The MMX-4X4CAT-70M does not include dedicated coaxial or analog audio outputs. For audio de-embedding, the MMX-4X4CAT-150M includes coaxial and balanced analog audio outputs per HDBaseT port.
