Question 1

What do the amber LED and the RESET buttons on the EXT-HD60M TX and RX mean?

Accepted Answer

The LINK LEDs light to confirm the CAT6 connection between the transmitter and the receiver. If the RX LINK LED flashes, check that the CAT6 cable is terminated to IEEE-568B and that the transmitter has an HDMI input. The RESET button is on the receiver: press it if there is no image or the picture

Question 2

RX LINK LED flashing.

Accepted Answer

1) Verify CAT6 cable follows IEEE-568B. 2) Check TX has HDMI signal input. 3) Reset both TX and RX.

Question 3

Maximum distance?

Accepted Answer

60 meters (196 feet) at 1080p over CAT6/6a/7.

Question 4

Maximum resolution?

Accepted Answer

1080p@60Hz (1920x1080). Supports 480i through 1080p.

Question 5

What is the HDMI loop-out on the transmitter?

Accepted Answer

A local HDMI output on the TX for preview or monitoring on a nearby display, independent of the remote output.

Question 6

How does IR pass-through work?

Accepted Answer

IR runs one way. An IR receiver on the receiver's IR IN captures the remote's signal at the display and sends it over CAT6 to the transmitter's IR OUT, where the IR emitter repeats it to the source. Supports 20-60KHz.

Question 7

No image or abnormal display.

Accepted Answer

1) Press RX RESET button. 2) Try shorter CAT6 cable. 3) Verify IEEE-568B termination on both ends.

Question 8

Can I use CAT5 or CAT5e?

Accepted Answer

No. Requires CAT6/6a/7 only. CAT5/5e will not work.

Question 9

Does it support 4K?

Accepted Answer

Question 10

What cable termination standard?

Accepted Answer

IEEE-568B on both ends. Shielded CAT6 with shielded RJ45 connectors strongly recommended.
