- Does the matrix support audio de-embedding?
- No. The MMX-8X8CAT-70M has no separate coaxial or analog audio outputs; the audio travels with the picture on each HDMI and HDBaseT output.
- Can I mix 4K and 1080p displays on the same matrix?
- The MMX-8X8CAT-70M has no per-output scaler: each output sends the source as it is. Where a 4K source feeds a 1080p display, set that input's EDID to a 1080p mode.
- Can I control the MMX-8X8CAT-70M from an app?
- Yes, with RelayAV, KanexPro's control app: route any source to any output, turn each output's HDMI and HDBaseT picture on or off, set EDID, HDBaseT DSC mode and ARC, and recall the 8 presets.
- What cable type is required for CAT outputs?
- Use CAT6 or CAT6A shielded cable (STP). Standard CAT5e may work at shorter distances but is not recommended for full 70m performance. Do not use crossover cables — direct interconnect (T568B) wiring only.
- Do I need separate power supplies for the CAT receivers?
- No. The MMX-8X8CAT-70M provides 12V Power over CAT (PoC) on all 8 CAT outputs. The included receivers are powered directly through the CAT6 cable — no additional power adapter is required at the remote end.
- My display shows no video on a CAT-connected receiver. What should I check?
- Verify CAT6 cable wiring (T568B, no crossover), check that the PoC LED on the receiver is illuminated, confirm the cable does not exceed 70m, and re-seat the RJ45 connectors. Also verify the EDID setting matches the display resolution in RelayAV.
- How do I access the Web GUI?
- Connect the TCP/IP RJ45 port to your network and put your PC on the same subnet. The KanexPro default is a static 192.168.0.100 (if it was changed, read it over RS-232 with r ipconfig!). Open that address in a browser and sign in with the Admin account, then change its password.
- What is included in the box?
