Features & Configuration: Quad View & Multiview

Overview

The FLEX chassis supports Quad View mode — displaying up to four independent sources simultaneously on a single display output in a divided layout. This is useful for monitoring multiple feeds, command center walls, sports bar screens showing multiple games, and broadcast confidence monitoring.

Quad View Modes

The FLEX chassis supports multiple multiview layout options per output:

  • Quad view (2×2): Four equal-size windows in a 2×2 grid on one display.
  • PiP (Picture in Picture): One full-screen main source with one or more smaller overlay windows.
  • PoP (Picture outside Picture): Main content with source thumbnails arranged alongside.
  • Custom layouts: Window size and position configurable per output.

How Quad View Works

In multiview mode, the FLEX chassis internally composites multiple input signals and outputs them as a single combined image on one display port. Each window in the layout is independently assigned to any input in the system.

  • Each window can display any source from any input card — not limited to adjacent inputs.
  • Window assignments are reconfigurable in real time from the web GUI or REST API.
  • Audio follows a designated primary source in multiview mode.

Configuring Quad View

  1. In the chassis web GUI, navigate to Output Settings and select the output port to configure.
  2. Switch the output mode from Standard to Multiview.
  3. Select the layout (2×2 quad, PiP, PoP, or custom).
  4. Assign an input source to each window position.
  5. Set the primary audio source for the combined output.
  6. Apply. The output immediately displays the multiview layout.

Combining Quad View with Video Wall

The FLEX chassis can run standard routing, quad view, and video wall modes simultaneously across different output ports. For example:

  • Outputs 1–4: Video wall (4 displays showing one tiled source)
  • Output 5: Quad view (4 feeds on one monitor for operator monitoring)
  • Outputs 6–12: Standard 1:1 routing (individual displays)

Each output’s mode is independently configured — no system-wide mode change required.

Use Cases

  • Sports bar: One screen showing 4 games simultaneously while adjacent screens show individual games full screen.
  • Command center: Operator monitor showing 4 camera feeds or data sources simultaneously.
  • Broadcast: Confidence monitor showing program, preview, graphics, and clock in a quad layout.
  • Security / surveillance: Multi-camera quad view on a dedicated monitoring display.
