KanexPro EXT-HDBT70M UltraSlim HDBaseT TX/RX kit extends 1080p up to 70m and 4K/30 up to 40m over Cat5e/6 with PoH, bidirectional IR, RS-232, and CEC…
Extends uncompressed HDMI video, RS-232, and bi-directional IR up to 230ft / 70m at 1080p or 130ft / 40m at 4K/30 over a single Cat5e/6a cable. The EXT-HDBT70M uses HDBaseT technology to deliver reliable signal extension with full HDCP 2.2 compliance, CEC pass-through, and bidirectional PoH — so only one power adapter is needed for both TX and RX. Designed for commercial and residential AV installations where a compact, low-profile TX/RX pair is required. The UltraSlim metal enclosure with mounting ears fits behind displays, in lecterns, or in tight rack spaces. Bidirectional RS-232 and IR pass-through provides complete integration with third-party control systems.
Questions
- What is the maximum 1080p extension distance?
- 230ft / 70m over a single Cat5e/6a cable with T568B termination on both ends.
- Does this support 4K/60?
- No. Maximum 4K resolution is 4K×2K@30Hz at up to 130ft / 40m. For 4K/60 extension, see the EXT-4KHD150M2.
- Can I power only one end?
- Yes. PoH (Power over HDBaseT) allows either TX or RX to be powered from the single 24V/1.25A adapter — the powered unit supplies the other over the Cat cable.
- What cable termination standard must I use?
- TIA/EIA T568B straight-through on both ends. The shielded layer of the cable must be connected to the metal connector shell for optimal transmission.
- No image on the display — what should I check?
- Verify HDMI cables at both ends are connected and working. Confirm Cat5e/6a cable is not damaged and is terminated T568B. Ensure power is applied and the LINK LED is green on both units.
- What cable standard is required?
- Straight-through Cat5e or Cat6a with T568B termination on both ends. Shielded STP is recommended. Do not use crossover cables.
