Overview

The KanexPro HDMI to Component video with audio converter is a classic fit for HDMI sources such as Game consoles, Apple TV2, Blu-ray players and cable boxes that needs seamless integration for today's home theater environments. It converts the HDMI input into analog component video for displays and projectors.

The converter decodes the HDMI input signal and outputs to component signal with R+L audio. Ideal and cost-effective for legacy home-theater equipment that needs the transformation from HDMI sources.

Q: Does the converter experience lag of any sort when converting the video? I would like to use it for video game consoles and my computer to play games on a television that only supports 480p and 1080i YPbPr component input. Thus, for playing games, there can't be any lag from the device or else the games I play would be virtually unplayable.
A: No lags as far as any game consoles are concerned, however, when a PC is used for playing games, there are a number of things to reason : refresh rate, resolution, graphics card support for digital to analog resolutions which may have some slight effect, otherwise these converters are robust and reliable.

Q: When connecting a device through this, does the converter simply keep the same resolution? For example, say I'm putting a 1080i signal through it. Would a 1080i signal come out? Also, would there be any degradation to the original picture due to processing, or does the device simply act as a pass through?
A: Yes, that is correct, it will not scale the output to 1080i since its not a scaler, its a pass through device that does the conversion from digital HDMI to Component. It will support the best resolution available when converted to component which is 1080p and not 1080i.

Q: Connecting the KanexPro to Mitsubishi WS-65413 doesn't send a signal. What is the trick to sending the signal?
A: Change the resolution on your source device to match Mitsubishi tv, for example to 720p HD, or 1080i.

Q: Do i have to use the R/L audio? My source has digital audio as output. Could I just use the component out and digital audion with this or is my audio going to be out of sync?
A: Yes, you can use the digital from your amp, the R+L is just designed for stereo audio hook up.

Q: Will it work with XBOX One HDMI output into a projector that only has red, blue and green component inputs with the audio red and white going to an amplifier?
A: Yes, it works.

Q: I have a pioneer rear projection tv pro-710 hd will work for this? Want to connect an Apple TV to our rear projection tv
A: Yes, but please change the resolution on your apple TV to 720p HD before plugging the converter to your TV.

Q: I have a ps4 and the converter but when I plug it all in to my samsung dlp tv it says "not supported mode" is there a setting that I need to change on the ps4 to make this work?
A: Yes, please change the video resolution on your PS4 to either 1080i or 720p to watch.

Q: i am recieving audio output but not any video. i switched the video output to 780p. what else can i do to fix it?
A: Try adjusting the resolution to HD720p or HD1080i on your source device by connecting using an HDMI cable to the TV and then use our converter.
