Overview

The KanexPro Long-Runner 5PL employs HDBaseT® technology to route high-resolution HDMI® signals with uncompressed HD 1080p and multi-channel audio from the source up to 330 feet (100m) to your HD display. In addition, it supports PoE (Power over Ethernet) eliminating excess or unwanted power drain and also provides power to the receiver at the remote location, giving the ultimate freedom to the display or projector from being tethered to the AC outlet.

It provisions full 3D (all formats) and resolutions up to 4Kx2K (4 times the 1080p) with multi-channel audio, IR and RS-232 extension over a single low cost CAT5e/6 cable. Fully compliant with HDCP, EDID and CEC controls. The Long-runner 5PL can be easily controlled with RS-232 control ports.

Extends Ethernet to connected TVs for online access and provides IR back channel to control A/V sources using the same CAT5e cable extension. With the built-in IR blaster, simply point the IR remote(s) at the display to control the Hi-Def. sources as if they were located in the same room as the display. Ideal for use with home-theater, digital signage, hospitality and medical imaging applications.

Please note:

Do not use couplers between the RJ-45/ CAT6 cables, this will cause signal degradation.

To reduce video dropout problems from lightings, ceiling fans and other EMI issues, it is strongly recommended that you terminate shielded CAT5e/CAT6 and use shielded RJ45 connectors with our extender products. "EZ end" connectors are not recommended for use with HDMI extenders.

Helpful Tips & Recommendations:

  • CAT-5 cables should not exceed 330 feet or (100m).
  • Please adhere to the TIA/EIA568B standards when terminating network cables in the field.
  • Shielded CAT5/6 with metal RJ-45 connectors are recommended to safeguard against random video flashes caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI).
  • Do not use crossover cables, patch cables or Ethernet couplers to extend two CAT5 cables. This may damage the Tx & Rx.
  • If the power LED indicator on the Tx/Rx unit is not on, check to make sure that the CAT5 cables are not crossed i.e., Ethernet to Link instead of Ethernet to Ethernet.
